Hello, I'm Isabelle Halvorson. I am a psychotherapist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy and I maintain a private practice with Matt Larson LCSW in the South Salt Lake Valley, Utah area.
I have a Master's of Science degree in Counseling (MSC) from the University of Phoenix and am currently working as a private practitioner serving with a broad spectrum of clients. My areas of expertise are: Marriage Counseling, Family Counseling, Parenting issues and Individual Counseling. I specialize in counseling depression, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, divorce and pornography addiction.
To keep up to date and to maintain effectiveness in relationship therapy, I have attended National Conferences and have been taught by some of the leading authorities in marriage and family relations. I also take several education classes each year on a variety of psychological subjects such as: specialized training in diagnosing, counseling troubled teens, the psychodynamic theory and practice, Utah law and counseling ethics. I am an interactive, solution-focused therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback in an atmosphere of warmth and emotional safety which results in helping my clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. Through my practice and life experiences I have developed great compassion for and understanding of people and their challenges. i strive to work with each individual or couple to help them find and build their strengths and attain the personal growth they have long desired.
