Ms. Tory is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in Arizona and a US Navy Veteran. She recently relocated to Utah & is currently completing additional internship hours required for licensure in Utah. She specializes in individual counseling & group facilitation of adults; She has worked as a mental health provider for 11 years.
Ms. Tory’s graduate training is in Rehabilitation Counseling, which has prepared her to help & empower clients with physical, mental, developmental, cognitive, & emotional disabilities to achieve their personal, career, & independent living goals through the application of the counseling process. Ms. Tory has worked in a variety of medical, psychiatric, and psychological settings such as the Veterans Affairs (VA) Hospital, & she has worked as a Mental Health Provider/owner of a client home based private practice serving adult female clients. Her client emphasis is serious mental illness (SMI), substance use, abuse & addiction & disability, illness, chronic pain & disease. Her counseling approach is prominently Humanistic in nature although she has an Eclectic orientation, adapting to the individual needs of her clients. She also has training in Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)/Mindfulness.
The conditions that Ms. Tory has experience with are depression/suicidal ideation, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, personality disorders, Women’s issues, Vocational issues, Addictions: Pornography, Sexual, Substance Abuse; Trauma Recovery, Low Self-Esteem, Stress, Grief & Loss, Interpersonal Relationship Issues, Boundary Issues, Eating Disorders/Body Image Issues, Codependency & Anger. She has experience & is comfortable working with the military, LGBTQ, & LDS cultures. She also enjoys working with clients experiencing illness & pain as she understand the impact of disability & medical conditions on clients’ lives & the importance of achieving a sense of inclusion, independence, optimism, identity, self-esteem & empowerment. Ms. Tory is a compassionate therapist with a wealth of life experience, who is motivated by a passion for helping her clients achieve positive growth & change.
