Matt Larson MSW, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in individual, couples and family psychotherapy, and maintains a private practice in Downtown Salt Lake City, Utah and a satellite office in South Jordan, Utah.

I have over 12 years experience as a clinician, and a graduate of the University of Utah Graduate School of Social Work specialized in adult and family clinical psychotherapy. I am currently working as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients (adolescents/adults). Among my areas of expertise are depression, anxiety, physical and emotional abuse, low self esteem, personality disorders, marriage and family therapy, domestic violence treatment, people who have lost themselves and are seeking restoration of the true core self (finding their own inner true self, and path in life that brings them happiness); crisis intervention (4-6 week treatment model).

In addition, I am a member of NASW for social workers, and attend yearly training in object relations theory and psychoanlytic technique and modalities. I thrive and enjoy entering the therapeutic alliance with my patients and work through the relationship to analyze, work through and bring about stable inner core changes to the self. Over time this answers the questions that brought the patient in for treamtent and held them hostage to their symptoms. I offer hope, geniuineness and a safe environment for my patients to unravel and solve their inner conflicts and defense mechanisms that keep them from discovering their true potential and heal wounds that seem too overwhelming to approach.

I am a psychoanlytic, object relations focused therapist. I have had years of consultation, training and supervision in these theories of treatment. My treatment approach helps clients enter into treatment to deal with the initial crisis that they came to treatment for. Treatment goals are determined; hope and support provided and then begins longer term treatment if both client and therapist deem appropriate. I can incorporate a blend of additional approaches, styles and techniques that will be most helpful for each patient. I am also sensitive, professional, and compassionate in his assessment and recommendations. I work with each client to help them develop a treatment plan that works. I know and understands the LDS point of view.
